    I'm an American currently teaching English in Japan. The average Japanese civilian has not heard of pinto beans or ranch beans, which are staples in Albuquerque. Always keep tortillas, rice, bread, milk, eggs, beans, and cheese in your fridge/pantry and you'll never go hungry. Sadly, I can't find proper beans here.

    Man, what I wouldn't give for this lunch...

    Is that on a glass plate? Doesn't look like something the kids would be getting...

    It's a recycled washable reusable material. They aren't big on styrofoam and paper waste in Berkeley.
