Honestly, some of this stuff simply shouldn’t be offered. My kids’ school offers chocolate milk every day. I assume some children choose the regular milk, but my kids don’t. I asked them to please choose regular milk at least once a week. Fortunately my son likes regular milk. Couldn’t the school simply offer chocolate milk only once a week – or never?? He’s right about what kids choose. Even if they are required to take something, that does not in any way mean they will eat it. They will just throw it away. So the trick is getting them to not only choose the healthy things (don’t even have fried, breaded, sugar-laden things on the menu to start with) but actually eat them.

I will believe you when you say that they are not staged, Admin (sorry, don’t know you’re real name!). But James has a good point: just because they are real does not mean that they are all the school offers. How do we know that the worst pictures aren’t from schools where the students choose what they want from a wider array of options, and you disingenuously present pictures of the kids who CHOOSE to refuse some of the foods offered as if they’re normal? If a school offers adequate meals but a student refuses to eat them, that’s not the school’s fault. You simply do not provide us with enough information to know if we need to be alarmed, or if you’re pursuing an agenda in a thoroughly dishonest manner.
